So it’s always been a special day for me, and more so a source of good luck than bad. I just read the origin of Friday the 13th and it seems to suit me even more now.
The actual origin of the superstition appears to be a tale in Norse mythology. Friday is named for Frigga, the free-spirited goddess of love and fertility. When Norse and Germanic tribes converted to Christianity, Frigga was banished in shame to a mountaintop and labeled a witch. It was believed that every Friday, the spiteful goddess convened a meeting with eleven other witches, plus the devil — a gathering of thirteen — and plotted ill turns of fate for the coming week. For many centuries in Scandinavia, Friday was known as “Witches’ Sabbath.”
Well, I have a 3 story house on the East Coast filled with stuff that I need leave behind when I move back here (San DIego) and it really bums me out. I don’t have the money to ship anything so that’s pretty stressful, but I’m glad I’ll be officially home, I hated it there.
Well! I have a best friend who just got back from India a couple of days ago, I have another friend who is having a bbq on Saturday and then Sunday is mothers day. How long are you going to be in New York?
I live in queens(which i love) but i might have to move to another borough. it doesn't really matter because most of the good stuff is in manhattan.
it's ironic that you are back in cali, because i left there because i couldn't hang(read: get a job). Its a shame because there's a lot to love in that state. Oh well, I'll be back eventually. Where were you on the east coast?
Yeah, people have fucked this state really hard and work is hard to find but it’s home and I don’t think I could live anywhere else now. I was in Pennsylvania but worked a bit in NYC. I’m actually taking my best friend there (NYC) in a couple days, he’s never been.
